FAQ

  • Is uniform required?
YES, full black scrubs uniform, top and bottom, no print; close toed shoes, please revised student dress code policy. Students that show to school without uniform can purchase one at the IBA store or will be send home.
  • Can I leave early or come in late if needed?
Yes, you can, but keeping in mind that you only get hours while on the school premises. You can make up hours, so you don’t fall behind and avoid paying over contract fees.
  • Can I enroll at any time? If yes, when can I start?
YES, you can enroll at any time to secure your seat, and you will start on next class start date, if we have seats open for that class date. Depending on how many seats are available, we may allow students to start immediately.
  • How can I have a lower weekly payment? can my payments be divided in more weeks if I’m enrolling too many months before the next start date?
It all depends on the down payment, the higher the down, the lower the balance. The longer the terms, the lower the weekly payments. EXAMPLE: Enrollment date October 1st (15 weeks before next class). Class starts January 18, and you are doing the 12 weeks program, your balance due after the down payment will be divided into 15 + 12 = 27 weeks, your weekly payment will be split into 27 weeks, so your payment will be a lot lower.
  • Can my balance be paid off at any time?
YES, to be paid in full before graduation.
  • Can I obtain my nail license if I don’t have my legal documents or DACA?
We accept any students of any nationality, regardless of legal status in the US. IBA welcomes you and will give you the opportunity to start a new chapter in your life and help you in the process to obtain your Diploma as a Nail Technician. Students can enroll, attend, and graduate IBA, but unfortunately in the state of SC, any DACA student; or any student who does not have a legal status, Social Security number and a valid US Government Issued Photo Identification, will not be approved to take state examinations and will not be able to obtain a professional Nail Technician License in South Carolina, but may be able in other states like North Carolina. Students can still attend school, graduate, and obtain IBA nail school Diploma. IBA gives the opportunity to everyone, but the state regulations are completely out of our control. Our commitment to all students is to prepare you to be a TOP Beauty Professional, but without the legal documentation the state requires, we cannot assure you will be able to obtain your professional license in South Carolina. All students with any legal status can obtain their CIDESCO DIPLOMA after 2 years of experience in any state or country, and the CIDESCO DIPLOMA is accredited internationally, but in US you would still need your state professional license.
  • What if I don’t speak or understand English?
Foreign language students who do not speak English MUST know that we cannot translate the class. We help as much we can but unfortunately, due to state regulations, we cannot translate. We highly recommend using a translator device if needed, and our personal recommendation headphones are TIMEKETTLE M3 Two-way translator device; get them on Amazon for about $140. IMPORTANT TO KNOW, you can use translation headphones at school to help yourself understand the class better, but when taking the state examinations, electronic devices including translators are prohibited.
  • What if sickness, or personal vacations or any matters push back my graduation date?
Students will have the opportunity to make up hours, but if you don’t make up any missed hours/days and you can’t finish your 300 hours by the end of contract/expected graduation date, unfortunately you will have to pay over-contract fees. ($15 per hour until completing the 300. EXAMPLE: your expected graduation date is March 31, and you still need 50 hours to complete the 300, then you will have to pay $15 x 50 = $750 on top what your original balance was. Take advantage of the makeup hours and don’t get behind.
  • What if I enrolled and later, I want to cancel my enrollment?
PLEASE review the DOWN PAYMENT FEES EXPLAIN on the disclosure and/or enrollment cancellation and refund policy.
  • Can I take a leave of absence?
Yes, for up to 60 days. After 60 days, you will be considered a drop-out, and to re-enter the school fees will be pro-rated and you will have to pay a new admissions fee. If we had made changes to any of the school materials, you would need to purchase new ones to be able to start.
  • If out of the sudden I drop out, do I still have to pay for my school in full?
Yes, you will have to pay the percentage according to the contract refund policy.
  • If you drop out with a pending balance, and a year from now you decide you want to come back to school, how much would you need to pay?
You will need to pay what you owe from previous balance and re-enroll. If school fees are higher when you re-enroll, your amount due will be prorated.
